Gas Analysis Traverse Systems
Engine exhaust gas analysis has been
routinely carried out for many years using a
variety of purpose built traversing systems.
Today, due to the importance of protecting
the environment, aero-engine exhaust gas
analysis has become routine and the use of
“fit to engine and go” gas analysis traverse
systems have become vital to the need to
rapidly analyse the exhaust gases from large
numbers of aero-engines.
Rotadata has been providing engine gas analysis traverse systems for many years and have recently developed a “fit to engine and go” gas analysis system suitable for use with most modern aero-engines. The Rotadata gas analysis traverse system is water cooled and designed to “bolt on” to the rear of the engine using a variety of gas analysis rake designs to sample the whole of the engine exhaust thru a complete 360 degree sampling angle. The above example of a complete gas analysis traverse system is one of several designs produced by Rotadata Limited.
Other designs simply traverse across the gas path or across and around the gas path. For these other designs usually two or more gas analysis rakes are traversed synchronised to measure pressure and temperature for onward analysis.
