RitaTel
The RitaTel digital telemetry system has been developed
to transmit dynamic and static strain, temperature and
pressure sensor signals from the rotating discs and blades
of large civil aero engines and power generating gas turbines
during engine development and performance testing. RitaTel
is not suitable for the flight-testing of aero engines. RitaTel is
an ‘end of shaft’ power induced, optical link telemetry system
specifically designed for locating at the end of an engine rotor
shaft. Instrumentation wires from the sensors attached to the
engine rotor connect directly into the telemetry unit IBA. RitaTel
utilises 12-bit telemetry module bricks having both dynamic
strain and temperature modules configured on the same brick.
In its standard configuration RitaTel is capable of transmitting simultaneously:
- 96 dynamic strain (range 10Hz to 50kHz bandwidth).
- 108 temperature sensor signals.
Other, customised, configurations are available to enable the transmission of static strain and pressure transducer sensor signals as well as dynamic strain and temperature sensor signals. The customised systems are individually configured to suite customer specific requirements. The optical sensor forming the transmission heart of the unit and which is built into the RitaTel unit enables all sensor signals to be transmitted with minimal back ground noise and interference.
The standard rotational speed for the RitaTel telemetry unit is up to 25,000 revolutions per minute.
Rotadata is a full service company which offers a complete design, manufacture, installation and support service.
