Rotadata has exceptional skills in the instrumentation of engine static and rotating aerofoils to measure flow, pressure and temperature. The attachment of measuring tube points incorporating or individually fitted with thermocouples are surface attached or embedded into aerofoils for data measurement on engine fans, compressors and turbines.

Rakes and probes used to record flow conditions with respect to flow angle, temperature and pressure on engines for bench, rig and flight measurement are available. Their placement in an engine or test rig can be anywhere in the fan, compressor, combustor, turbine or exhaust section. Rotadata are flight certified for the design and supply of rakes and probes.

In order to allow aero-engine and gas turbine designers to understand the performance of compressors and turbines, it is necessary for them to analyse the real flow conditions and the stresses that are imposed on the engine components during development, engine testing and engine operation.

The extensive range of rake and probe designs produced over many years and existing in our design library can provide you with a quick and cost effective solution to your engine gas flow fixed position measurement needs or, coupled with our actuated traverse systems, enable you to measure flow angle, temperature and pressure flow conditions across your engine gas paths using as necessary traverse actuators to measure area and annular gas path pressure and temperatures. Using our auto-yaw and touch probe designs provides accurate and safe methods of gas flow measurement.
