Control & Display Software RTRAV
Recognising the need for customers to fully control and acquire data using the Rotadata traverse system without having to resort to writing extensive software routines Rotadata provides standard traverse control software (RTRAV) to do this job.
RTRAV comes in two basic forms:
RTRAV 1 : Which provides traverse control only for up to six Rotadata actuators in its standard form. This software will also “hand shake” with the Customers own data acquisition software.
RTRAV 2 : Which provides traverse control for up to ten Rotadata actuators and in addition acquires and displays data in schedule and map format from the probe being traversed by each actuator or each actuator combination (as for an area traverse).
RTRAV can be supplied in either metric or imperial units.
Updates are made to the software from time to time and the updates are provided to customers generally for a period of two years from the software purchase date.

configuration disciplines maintain a quality assured capability on all test runs.
For either version of RTRAV area traversing is possible when the appropriate Rotadata radial, tangential or circumferential actuator combinations is chosen.
Control and Display Software RTRAV 1

Using RTRAV1 the Rotadata Traverse System becomes a comprehensive computer controlled system for manipulating the position of a probe in a hot gas flow. The exact position of each sampling point is stored in the PC for subsequent matching with data provided by the customer’s probe data acquisition software.
The data acquisition software and the probe acquired data can be stored either in the host computer or in a separate PC. The host computer can be either provided by the Customer or by Rotadata as may be preferred.
The appropriate section in the Rotadata Traverse User Manual should be referenced in order to gain a full understanding of the features and facilities available on the control system.
The RTRAV1 software is usually supplied on CD.
Installation follows standard ‘Windows’ procedures with the user guided by on screen messages.
If required a test programme can be provided when using dynamic data exchange (DDE) for ‘hand shaking’.
Control & Display Software RTAV2

The RTRAV2 software is capable of acquiring the following signal types.
Traverse and yaw control information, pressure, temperature, voltage, current and time code.
The following signal types can be output : Controller command, Current and Digital (TTL).
For each of the above categories the following equipment is supplied for use with RTRAV2.
- RTRAV2 Controller Information and Command Output.
- Rotadata Limited C2A controller (Combi).
- RTRAV2 Pressure.
- Messrs Pressure Systems PSI9010 and PSI9015 scanners.
- Pressure scanners with equivalent communications as for (a) that is a serial link to the PC using Optomux protocol.
- RTRAV2 Temperature.
- Messrs National Instruments SCX1 temperature signal conditioning board (e.g. SCXI 1102 connected to the PC via a National Instruments IO card (e.g. PCI-6023E).
- Messrs Computer Board temperature signal conditioning boards (for example CIO- EXP16 connected to the PC via Computer Board IO card (for example PCI-DAS08).
- RTRAV2 Voltage.
- Messrs National Instruments SCXI analogue expansion boards (for example SCXI-1102) connected to the PC via National Instruments IO card (for example PCI-6023E).
- Messrs Computer Board analogue input card (for example PCI-DAS 08).
- Messrs Computer Board analogue expansion board (for example CIO EXP-16).
- RTRAV2 Current.

Rotadata will be pleased to supply all the above specified equipment as a complete turnkey package including installation drawings, system integration at Rotadata Limited factory Derby, together with the RTRAV2 software, the selected Rotadata actuated traverse system equipment and the flow measurement probes all as may be required to achieve comprehensive flow measurement data.
